Three Truths
There are truths about God that many of us, at times, forget to remember. The first truth is that God loves us more than we can imagine. Everything that He does is with that thought in mind. His every action and His every decision is made out of a deep, abiding love for us.
The second truth is that God plays the long game. He is always thinking 100 moves ahead. Our Heavenly Father is continually moving around the pieces of our life so that His will for us is ultimately fulfilled. He will open doors that we need to walk through and will tightly close doors that would take us from His path.
The third truth is that God is not satisfied with leaving us where we are now but wants to bring us to the next level on our spiritual journey. With God, there is always another level to reach.
There are also three truths about ourselves to remember if we want to see the will of God in our lives. The first truth is that we must walk each day in faith, believing that God is orchestrating our lives. We need to realize that coincidences do not just happen in the life of a Christian, they are typically events that are ordained by the will of God. Whether it is something good that happens or an event that we would rather not experience, our response should always be an acknowledgement that God is in control.
The second truth to remember is that we are in a personal relationship with the Creator of the Universe. He is our Father and we are His children. He is not our ATM, but He will provide for all of our needs. He is not an absentee Father, but is actively involved in the lives of His most cherished creation. Ours is a symbiotic relationship, built on faith, trust and love.
The third truth is that we need to trust God with the faith of Abraham. We read in Genesis 12:1,12 how God instructed Abram to start a journey filled with unknowns. “The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.” “So, Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran. He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Harran, and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived there.”
Abraham understood the three truths about God and he was willing to place his complete faith, hope and trust in the Creator of all things.
Let us pray that we have the strength and commitment to face each day with the understanding that God is in total control of our life and that our future is securely in the palm of His hands.
We may not realize why God places us on a particular path, but as we take each step in faith, trusting that we are resting safely in His capable hands, God’s plan will continue to unfold. Trust that God will correct our path if we begin to stray. So, with that said, let us continue to pray each day that God’s will unfolds in our life as we walk out our journey of unknowns with the unwavering faith of Abraham.
